Meet Lissette Gonzalez - Real Estate Buyer Agent

Habla Español

Hello! & Hola!

My name is Lissette Gonzalez, and I am a REALTOR®/buyer specialist on the Erica Rawls Team.

The Erica Rawls Team is dedicated to helping people like you become smart, responsible homeowners.

I primarily work as a REALTOR® in Harrisburg, PA, but I also serve the Greater Central Pennsylvania Area including Harrisburg.

I’ve helped several clients find their dream home, and I want to help others, like you, too!

So, I’ve decided to share a little about me with you so you can understand why I became a REALTOR® in my community.

If you’re looking to buy your first home in the Central PA area or just start the process, feel free to email me anytime at lissette@ericarawls.com or give me a call at 717-678-6437 to set up your first consultation.

You can schedule a buyer’s consultation with me directly using the button below! I also offer virtual appointments.

Q : “Why do you love real estate?”

I love connecting with all types of people and making genuine connections, and I believe home ownership is one of the best things people can achieve. I love being a part of that process.

I also love the fact that no day in real estate is the same as the day before. Everyday is different.

Q: “Why do you enjoy what you do?”

Well, long story short, I wanted to be on the other end of the spectrum when it came to helping people in need.

I started my career in social services, and I found myself often working with downtrodden, marginalized populations.

After working in my last role as an executive director for a homeless program, I had enough of seeing people who looked like me trying to make it.

I noticed a trend; it wasn’t until those people hit rock bottom and got into the program to get help that they began having conversations with others about the things they could have done to prevent their current circumstances.

I was tired of having conversations with people after they lost everything. I know it would have been more beneficial to talk about credit and debit before they lost their home.

Now, I enjoy working as a REALTOR® for the Erica Rawls Team because I get to see peoples’ dreams of owning a home come true and help them know they can accomplish that goal.

Q: “What’s one thing you wish you would’ve known or didn’t know when you bought your first house?”

I wish I would’ve taken the time to fully research and review my options before going through with the homebuying process.

I was renting at the time when I first bought my place, and I had finally dug myself out of the financial mess I created when I was younger (in my 20s?).

Since I accomplished this goal, I finally wanted to pull the trigger to buy a house.

I felt like I was at a checkpoint where I should be buying a home, but I was in such a rush and ready to do it that I didn’t take full advantage of what I could actually do when I was in the process.

Later on, when I sold the property, I realized my REALTORS® took my naiveness for granted, and I ended up paying and doing a lot more when I first bought my home than I should have.

I wished I would have considered buying a home as more than an accomplishment or “something to do” because in the long haul it can become a burden.

For my next home purchase, I want to do it in a way where I control the narrative.

Q: “What’s your motto/personal mantra?”

My personal motto/mantra is “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

I try to be the change agent for other people who I wish were doing the same for me.

I want this world to be a little bit better than when I came into it.

If I can do my part, whatever that is, I want to help.

Q: “Why do you believe education is so important in the home buying/selling process?”

When you know better you do better.

When we have our buyer’s consultations with clients, I’ve heard people say that it was the first time they sat down with someone and everything was laid out about the homebuying process.

When our clients have a better understanding of the process, they can move in a different light because they know better and how to move.

And, when clients know everything on the front end, nothing is a surprise.

To me, education is important in the homebuying process because the legwork I put in on the front end helps empower my clients with knowledge so they can make smart decisions.

That’s why we’re not your typical REALTORS® at the Erica Rawls Team because we’re proactive in our approach whether you need to buy or sell a home.

Q: “What’s the best experience you had helping someone, or a family, buy a home?”

It was the very first home I sold a home and it was also my most challenging home to sell.

I was working with a mother who was expecting her second child, and I was emotionally invested in helping her find her first home.

However, anything and everything that could have gone wrong went wrong throughout her process, but we persevered.

The day we finally got to the settlement table felt beyond rewarding. It was like the world aligned.

My client not only earned her new home, but she deserved it as well.

For her to be my very first client, I felt like everything happened for a reason – the ups and the downs.

At that moment, I knew I was headed in the right direction in my life.
